Terms of Service

Last updated: May 5, 2026

Note: This is a draft. Review with legal counsel before public launch.

1. The deal

Shelfbee is a Canadian price comparison service, operated as a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada. Shelfbee shows you grocery and household prices at Canadian retailers near you, ranked by real cost (shelf price plus estimated distance and time). It's free to search; some features require an account. By using Shelfbee, you agree to these terms.

2. Prices may differ at the store

Shelfbee scrapes retailer websites and aggregates flyer data weekly. Prices change. A retailer may charge differently in store than on its website, and inventory varies by branch. Always verify the price at the store before purchase. We do not guarantee accuracy or availability.

3. Price-match policies

Some retailers honour competitor price-matching. The terms vary by store. The "Price-match" button on a Shelfbee result generates a shareable image of the source flyer entry, which you can show at checkout. Whether the price is matched is between you and the retailer — Shelfbee is not party to the transaction.

4. Affiliate links

Shelfbee earns commissions when you click some retailer links and complete a purchase (e.g., Amazon Canada, Walmart Canada, Best Buy Canada). This does not affect our rankings. The real-cost formula is the same regardless of whether a result has an affiliate link.

5. Account responsibilities

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Don't share your password. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

6. Acceptable use

  • Don't scrape Shelfbee or otherwise extract our data in bulk without permission.
  • Don't attempt to reverse engineer, attack, or interfere with the service.
  • Don't impersonate someone else.

7. Our content

The Shelfbee software, logo, and original copy are ours. The retailer product listings, prices, and brand names belong to their respective retailers and brand owners. We display them on a fair-use basis for price-comparison purposes.

8. Termination

You can close your account any time from your account page. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms. We'll notify you and explain why before suspending unless we're responding to active abuse.

9. Disclaimer

Shelfbee is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — implied, statutory, or otherwise. Our liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is limited to CAD $50 or the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

11. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll announce material changes at the top of this page and, for accountholders, by email 30 days before they take effect.
